Help your children to learn about their culture and heritage so they can be confident in their identity.
Aiga Anau - Family, family
In our Pasifika group, we recognise and embrace Pasifika values and culture, through diverse cultural dance and music of the Pacific. We create an environment that nurtures our younger students and makes leaders out of our senior students.
Every year we have over 120 students wanting to be a part of the Aiga Anau group. We encourage all Pasifika students to participate. We fill other spaces across classrooms and levels with children who are passionate and dedicated to learning and performing Pasifika. We eventually end up with a group of 50 to 60 students. Some of these children have been performing since they were 5 years old. Once they come into the group, they always come back year after year. We have children who may not shine as bright in the classroom, but shine their brightest in our practices and on the big stage at Polyfest.
The leaders in the group do not stand alone but stand with the group. In our Aiga Anau family, you always have a friend.
“We are not Kapa Haka, in our island culture we are a little bit cheeky”
We have our ukulele strummers, and our drummers to keep our Pasifika beat, which is combined with our diverse costumes, dances, songs, and chants of the Pacific. We want the children to be proud, have fun, smile big, and shine bright!
